KYDSO

Rules for password generation

An initial password is automatically generated when a new account is created.

The initial password of the defined length (system default: 12 characters) is composed of a random combination of the following characters.

  • Capital letters A-Z

  • Lower case a-z

  • Numbers 0-9

  • Special characters, system default:

    + # . , : ; ! $ % & / ( ) § = *

You can define the length of the password and the special characters to be used  yourself if required. You can also completely dispense with special characters for password generation.

To change the rules for generating the initial password:
  1. Click on the View assets action in the View data menu.

The asset list opens. For performance reasons, this is empty the first time it is opened after starting KYDSO.

  2. Search for the article Password generation and click on the corresponding Details.

The current settings are displayed in the Information section.

  3. Click on Change data.

The wizard for the selected action starts and guides you through the process.

Once you have triggered the change, the new rule is used to generate the initial password.
