Notes on the use of your browser
KYDSO does not require a separate program installation. It is operated via web pages in your browser. Please note the following general information:
Browser support
KYDSO generally supports all browsers that support the HTML 5 standard. Currently, the latest versions of Chrome, Opera, Safari, Firefox and Edge, for example, implement essential parts of HTML 5, although differences in the HTML 5 implementations of different browsers cannot always be taken into account.
Attention: Safari 's private browsing mode is not supported. If you activate private browsing in Safari, some KYDSO pages will not be displayed.
Scrolling
If you use the forward or backward scroll function or the browser history to navigate in KYDSO, an error message may be displayed depending on the view you are currently viewing. To avoid the error message being displayed, please use the buttons provided for navigation in KYDSO as far as possible.
Session expires
Browser sessions expire after a preset time. If you have the browser window open for a long time (usually several hours) without working on it, the session may expire. If you receive a message to this effect, start a new session. Save entered data regularly before switching to other programs or leaving the computer for a longer period of time.
Even if you close the browser tab, but keep the browser open and open a new tab after a long time and call up KYDSO, you will receive a message that the session has expired, even though you have just restarted it.
Changing the font size
The browser functionality to increase or decrease the font size by holding down the CTRL key and simultaneously rolling the mouse wheel is supported in KYDSO.
Barrier-free design
KYDSO is barrier-free. It is therefore also possible to operate the application without a mouse, using only the keyboard. For example, the Enter key can be used to trigger the command for the currently selected button. This also applies if the cursor is currently positioned in a text field. Exceptions are fields in the long text format, in which line breaks can be inserted using the Enter key.
Using angle brackets in text fields
For security reasons, it is not permitted to enter HTML code, XML code, email addresses or similar in angle brackets <> in text fields (e.g. when entering search terms or information in the wizard steps). You will then receive a corresponding error message. It is possible to use special characters other than angle brackets.
Important
Parallel work in several KYDSO instances or dialog windows is not supported. If you work in several instances or dialog windows at the same time, the application may behave unexpectedly or data may be lost. Only work in one instance or dialog box at a time and close it when you have finished editing to avoid data loss.
